1)   一般情况下加 s:

books

pens

pencils

2)以 s/x/ch/sh结尾的单词加 es:

buses

boxes

watches

fishes

3)以字母。结尾的单词变复数加 es 的有:

Negro     Negroes

hero     heroes

potato    potatoes

tomato    tomatoes

其它的一般都直接加 s:

photo     photos

radio     radios

4)以元音字母加 y 结尾的单词在变复数时，直接在词尾加上 s 即

可。

boy    boys

toy    toys

以辅音字母加 y 结尾的单词在变复数时，要把 y 变成 i，再加 es。

baby    babies

5）如果名词是以 f 或 fe 结尾的，变成复数的时候，一般把 f 或

fe 变成 v，再加’es’

— What are their jobs?

— What are their jobs?

Axe they engineers or mechanics?

— They aren’t engineers.

They are mechanics.

4.(hairdressers) /sales reps

— What are their jobs?

Are they hairdressers or sales reps?

— They aren’t hairdressers.

They are sales reps.

5.(nurses) /housewives

— What are their jobs?
