Grammar– Plural Form

名词分为可数名词和不可数名词

可数名词:

office    官员    friend 朋友

passport   护照    case    箱子

umbrella   雨伞

不可数名词:

water     水       tea  茶

air       空气 coffee  咖啡  powder  粉末

可数名词分为单数形式和复数形式

单数形式:数量为一的事物

a case  an egg

复数形式:数量为一个以上的事物

a bus       buses

a friend   friends

a case     cases

单数变复数的变化规则主要有以下几种:

1)在单数名词后面加”s”

an officer    officers

a tourist     tourists

a passport    passports

2)在以”s””x”sh””ch”结尾的单数名词变复数时,需在单词后面加

“es”

a bus       buses

a dress    dresses

a box       boxes

a fox       foxes

a fish     fishes

a wish     wishes

a watch    watches

a match    matches

3)以元音字母加”y”结尾的单数名词变复数.我们在词尾加:

a boy       boys

a toy       toys

a key       keys

以辅音字母加 y 结尾的单词,需把 y 去掉再加 ies

a fly       flies

a baby     babies

a country  countries

1)以 o 结尾的单数名词变复数时有两种形式:其一是直接在词尾

加 s; 另一种是在词尾加 es.

口诀:

黑人英雄爱吃土豆西红柿 + es

Negro(es)     hero(es)

potato(es)    tomato(es)

其它则加 s

photo(s)   radio(s)

5)不规则变化

a man       men

a goose    geese

a foot     feet

a tooth    teeth

a wife     wives

(以 f 或 fe 结尾的单数名词变成复数,一般把 f 或 fe 变成 V

再加 es。)

a knife    knives

a sheep    sheep

名词复数的发音规则 清清浊浊

1)如果名词词尾的发音是一个清辅音那么词尾加的s就发[s]的音。

book       books [buks}

map        maps [m ae ps)

mouth       mouths [ mauθ s ]

以清辅音 t 结尾的单词.变复数加 s 的时候,t 与 s 共同发[ts]

cat        cats  [ kaet]

shirt       shirts [ʃə:t]

skirt       skirts [ skə:t]

2)如果名词词尾的发音是一个浊辅音或者是词尾是一个元音,那

么词尾就发[z]的音

tie        ties [taiz]

dog        dogs [ dɔɡ ]

pen        pens [penz]

doctor     doctors [ˈdɔktə]

以浊辅音 d 结尾的单词变复数的时候, d 与 s 共同发[dz]

bed        beds [bedz]

kid        kids [kidz]

food       foods [fu:dz]

3)如果名词词尾的发音是:

[s] [z] [   ʃ ] [ ʒ ] [ t ʃ ] [d ʒ ]  词尾加的 s 或 es 发[iz]

dress       dresses  [dresiz]

nose       noses  [nəuziz]

watch       watches  [wɔtʃiz]

fish       fishes  [fiʃ]
